Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette (Holiday 2014) – Review, Swatches & Comparisons

Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette (Holiday 2014)

As they did last year, Tarte has released another blush palette, the Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette. And despite the fact that it’s getting a lot of love at the moment, my feelings regarding this palette are a little more complex. The palette is comes in cream and gold textured packaging that emulates a clutch. The external part of the packaging is soft, rather reminiscent of the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Palette. This packaging is far from what I would call luxurious and is unnecessarily large and cumbersome. It’s just not attractive, in my opinion. The palette also comes … Continue reading

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette – Review & Swatches

Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

Okay, this post is just cursed. I have been trying to get this up for about 3 weeks and in addition to a more than usual hectic work schedule, I have had hosting problems, internet outages, emergency doctor appointments and various other unexpected life events. So while WordPress is working, I have internet access and have only couple of fires to put out, I’m going to try to get this up. Urban Decay’s Vice palettes have become a holiday tradition for beauty junkies but I always passed on them because a) the shades included in the palette just didn’t entice … Continue reading

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette – Review & Swatches

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette Fresh Blush Venezia Gilded Custom Sangria Bengal Chocolate China Rose Noir

Anastasia Beverly Hills has been on a roll with their eyeshadow palettes lately with the release of the Amrezy Palette, the Maya Mia Palette and now the Tamanna Palette by DressYourFace. I decided that to drool from afar on the first two palettes as the shipping prices were just too exorbitant (#CanadianProblems) so I was ecstatic to see the Tamanna Palette finally be available at Sephora. And honestly, I’m glad I held out until this one! The Tamanna Palette comes in a relatively sturdy cardboard packaging that’s has a magnetic closure. The palette is small and travel friendly but gets … Continue reading

Tarte Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Park Ave Princess (Pink Bronze) – Review & Swatches

Tarte Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Park Ave Princess (Pink Bronze)

Originally released as part of a QVC set, Tarte’s Colored Clay Bronzer Blush in Park Ave Princess (Pink Bronze) has been released individually. And it’s not a surprise as any makeup enthusiast (read hoarder) would find it very difficult to resist this visual feast. The product is housed in a plastic compact with a bright pink wave like pattern. I don’t know why but it reminds me of the desert. I suppose it exudes a feeling of heat which is rather appropriate for a bronzer. To me, the bronzer blush gives the illusion of seashells at first sight (tell me you … Continue reading

Clinique A Black Honey Affair Palette – Review & Swatches

Clinique A Black Honey Affair All About Shadow Palette Sugar Cane Hazy Black Honey Lucky Penny Dark Brown Shade of Morning Java Quad Purple Pumps Lavendar Out Loud Graphite

I have looked at Clinique’s Black Honey eyeshadow pretty much every time I walk by a Clinique counter but never made the purchase. I don’t know why but it just became one of those items that you look at and think “next time” for no good reason. So when I saw that Clinique had released A Black Honey Affair, a limited edition 8 shadow palette around the Black Honey, I decided it was time. A Black Honey Affair comes in a really clean, streamlined, compact palette that easily fits in the palm of my hand. I’s slightly larger than the … Continue reading
