Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette – Review & Swatches

Kat Von D Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette Review and swatch

Chrysalis Eyeshadow Palette is one of the two eyeshadow palettes released by Kat Von D this spring. Chrysalis is the supposed to be the cooler counterpart to Monarch Eyeshadow Palette and that it certainly is! The palette comes in a heavy duty cardboard packaging that is sturdy but can get dented rather easily. There are 5 matte shades, 6 shimmer shades and 1 glitter shade in the palette. For such a cool palette, I do appreciate mixture of some warmer shades. As I have mentioned on my previous reviews, the fact that 3 of the shades are almost double the … Continue reading

Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette – Review & Swatches

Kat Von D Monarch Eyeshadow Palette Review and swatch

I do not have a lot of experience with Kat Von D’s makeup line because it’s not a line that’s ever enticed me. But one swatch of her new butterfly themed palettes and it was a done deal! So here we are with the Monarch Eyeshadow Palette – I warn you now, get ready to loosen up those purse strings! After a loooong, dreary, snowy, cold winter, just looking at the palette brings a warm springy feeling that I welcome wholeheartedly. The Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette is packaged in a black plastic case that is slim enough but the packaging does feel a little clunky to me – but that’s just a personal thing. The palette also comes with double sided brush that I will likely just leave in there for emergency situations, mostly because I hate double sided brushes and … Continue reading

Mini Mascara Review: Benefit They’re Real!

Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara has been a very popular mascara but it never enticed me enough to give it a shot. So I went into using this mascara with quite a bit of skepticism and was very pleasantly surprised. As is obvious from the name, They’re Real! mascara is designed to give the illusion of fake lashes. The brush has synthetic bristles that are the same length all around. The thing that makes this brush unique is the edge of the wand: it has a domed shape with bristles on it (it’s reminiscent of a toned down, less torture device-ish … Continue reading
