Laura Mercier Satin Matte Eye Colour in Gold Seduction and Plum Allure – Review & Swatches

Laura Mercier Satin Matte Eye Colour in Gold Seduction and Plum Allure

I had mostly glanced over Laura Mercier’s Sensual Reflections Collection, perhaps because the promo images of the collection just didn’t speak to me at all. But then I swatched the Satin Matte Eye Colour eyeshadows. I’m not sure if this is a new formula but these are limited edition shades for Fall 2014. I have Gold Seduction and Plum Allure here for your reviewing pleasure. The eyeshadows come in an sturdy plastic packaging that feels slightly larger than necessary, but that’s neither here or there. What I do like about the packaging is that due to its clear lid, I can actually see the colours … Continue reading

Mini Mascara Review: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara had a lot of hype around it when it was first released, at least partially due to its name, no doubt. I was incredibly skeptical of the rave reviews, mainly due to the fact that its name made it seem like nothing but a marketing ploy. It’s hard for me to take something seriously with a name like “Better Than Sex”. But it looks like I will just have to deal with the name because it’s a pretty freakin’ fantastic mascara, for the most part. This review is based on the full size tube … Continue reading

Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Nude Blush (No. 12) – Review, Swatches & Comparisons

Burberry Complete Eye Palette in Nude Blush (No. 12) review

Burberry’s Fall 2014 collection, titled The Bloombury Girls, is split into 2 looks: Nude Blush and Slate Blue. Accordingly, the two eyeshadow quads included in the collection are appropriately named Nude Blush (No. 12) and Slate Blue (No. 20). I don’t know whether the quads are limited edition or will be added to the permanent line, although Burberry does tend to add majority of their releases to the permanent line. I only purchased Nude Blush (No. 12) but hopefully, Slate Blue sticks around so I can add it to my collection at a later date.  Of course, words can’t do … Continue reading

Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser – Review

Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser review

A few weeks ago, I met an Ole Henriksen representative at Sephora and she very generously gave me a jar of their new Pure Truth Melting Cleanser to try out prior to it’s release in stores (so the product pictured below is a sample size). I have had a chance to try out the balm for a few weeks now and considering my love affair with this line – I have honestly not used any other skincare in at least 3 years – I’m gutted to have to write this review. The Pure Truth Melting Cleanser 3 in 1 Cleansing … Continue reading

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Dolomites – Review & Swatches

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Dolomites review swatch

After my very long Smashbox Master Class III Palette review, this is gonna be short and sweet. I went to the NARS counter with the intention of purchasing several items from the Fall 2014 Nigh Caller Collection, particularly the blush and the eyeshadow duos. However, I ended up passing on the blush in Unlawful  because of the immense chunky glitter – I would just never use it. Out of the two duos, I opted for Dolomites, the more warmer toned duo in the collection. Dolomites comes in Nars’s traditional rubberized black packaging that many have a love hate relationship with. Dolomites has a … Continue reading
